Last Saturday I made my way back to the Fullerton Trail where I was happily reunited with a lovely couple whose wedding I shot last August.  Verenice and Angel are expecting their first baby this summer and I was so excited when Verenice got in touch with me to photograph her maternity session.  She said she wanted something outdoors in nature and I couldn’t think of a more perfect spot – at sunset no less!  We had a wonderful time leisurely strolling the trail, which was really nice considering the last time I photographed them, we were on a tight wedding schedule with little time to dilly dally (yes, I just said that).  It was great getting to know more about this loving couple who will soon be loving parents!  Verenice and Angel, thank you for letting me be part of yet another very special time in your lives.  I am beyond honored.  :-)  Hope you love these as much as I do…

Verenice is a trooper! I dragged her down the trails so we could get to this spot (totally worth it!):

When I met up with Siddhant and his parents last Sunday at the Fullerton train station, I knew we were going to have a great session. Sid was all smiles and his parents, Anju and Suneet, were completely at ease. It’s so nice when that happens! We played around at the station and then ventured out into downtown Fullerton. I won’t go into too much detail, but let’s just say the downtown scene on a Sunday evening is way more entertaining than you might imagine. ;-) Anyway, it’s late and I have an early morning appointment with some kindergartners, so let’s move on to the photos! Anju, Suneet and Sid, thanks for all the fun! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Big smiles right from the start:

More proof of how funny I am:

What a handsome guy!

What good is a photo shoot at the train station without a train?

And the obligatory crossbuck sign (bet you didn’t know that’s what they call that thing!):

Every mom should have a photo like this:

Another happy ending :-)

Happy new year everyone! I thought it fitting that my first blog post of the year feature my first session of the year. 2011 went down as my busiest holiday season ever – and as usual, I’m in a blog backlog, but I promise to get those sessions posted really soon ;-). In the meantime, meet my new friend, Shail who flew all the way from New York just to have me photograph him (and spend time with his grandparents for the holidays, too) :-) I met up with Shail and his awesome family in Laguna Beach for a sunset session. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day, as the skies were clear and the air was warm…you know, just a typical January day in southern California (east coast family, don’t hate!). As if I wasn’t lucky enough with the weather, I was also fortunate to have such an easy going, fun loving family to photograph. I’d say that was the perfect start to the new year! Shail, Nina, Ankur, HK and Anju -thanks for a great evening at the beach! Enjoy the sneak peek!

Hello cuteness!

Shail thought I should get a photo of his parents watching the sunset – he’s so smart!:

Keeping mom & dad entertained:

They don’t make sunsets like this in New York, Shail. Can’t wait to see you again!

Anonymous: so cute

Hema: OMG All pictures are amaizing!!!! Thank you for sharing! Love Nareshdada & Hemadadi

Now here’s the kind of family session that I don’t get to do every day. When Payel contacted me for photos and explained what she had envisioned for her session, I knew it was going to be great. Payel made it clear that she wanted the shoot focused more on fun (and fashion) and less on the traditional stuff. Oh, yes, please! She also alerted me to the fact that there was a little diva in the family who had her own ideas in mind. :-) So we decided on a location, LACMA, to be exact, and the rest is family photography history! Take a look at a few of my faves…and I really mean “a few” because there were just toooo many to pick!

My new friend, Amani – the divanista (that’s diva and fashionista combined, to those of you who didn’t know):

Her very cool, big bro, Keawn rockin’ Beats

Check out Amani’s expression when the rest of the family joined the session (as you can see, we quickly put her back in the spotlight):

Aaah, siblings :-p
