My Friends the Sugar Punk Fairies
December 23, 2008Due to my crazy schedule, I never got around to posting one of my favorite holiday sessions from this year – but now that things are settling down, I can finally give this much neglected blog some of the TLC it’s truly deserving of :-)
When my friend Regina called and asked if I was available to do a session for her I jumped at the opportunity for many reasons. (1)Regina is beautiful and has the kind of bone structure photographers dream about shooting. (2)Her daughter is equally gorgeous and is basically, a clone of her mom. And (3)Aaron, her wonderful hubby, would be sporting a tutu. I mean how often do you get to see a grown man wearing a tutu???
They wanted to do something original and by original, I mean decked out in gothic, punk attire – did I mention the tutus? Their theme – Dance of the Sugar Punk Fairies. We wanted an industrial, grungy feel to the shoot, so we headed down to the local railroad tracks. It was late in the day, so we didn’t think anyone would be around, but we were wrong! We had quite an audience – I’m talking people stopped in the streets to watch the Sugar Punk Fairies at work. It didn’t phase my buddies at all. They rocked the session. Check it out!

Regina: Hi Vanessa!
Thanks again for a really FUN shoot! You were so enjoyable to work with. My family and I loved it.
You know we send out a few hundred holiday cards each year and everyone that we've spoken to thus far, has a positive comment...one being that they love the way the photographer shot the series of photos.
Please mark your calendar for next year...we've already got the next theme picked out.
Love ya!
Regina
Ingrid: Aweeeeeesome!
Michelle Huesgen: I seriously loved this session girl! How much fun is that!!!!
Anonymous: Oh my word. The last photo is my fav. You have great open minded friends and you nailed the shots. Great job. Julia :-)
Eileen Rodenhizer: Oh My Goodness Vanessa! Your photos are so lusciously beautiful they make me weep and cry for more! Of course, it can't hurt to have such stunningly good looking friends and family as subjects. Brava! Keep the pictures coming....We love 'em! E.
